Welcome Back Reception
On Friday, May 22, the Pikes Bay Marina Staff will host a “Welcome Back Reception” from 5pm to 7pm at the fuel dock. Get together and meet old friends and take time to meet our new slip renters. We will provide the wine and snacks. Check out the new Ship's Store at the fuel dock and meet our 2009 dock crew, Andy and Casey. The new mini store at the fuel dock has been remodeled/carpeted and now includes an ice machine, cold drinks, numerous food items and traditional boating supplies. Our hope is that this additional location will save a trip or two up the hill.

The Annual Memorial Weekend Party
This years’ Memorial Weekend party will be held Sunday evening, May 24th starting at 5pm in the Clubhouse. BBQ will be catered by our good friends at GOOD THYME and PBM will provide the drinks. Bring a dish to share – power boaters are asked to bring a side dish and sail boaters are asked to bring a dessert. What a great way to kick off the 2009 boating season!
Boat Cleaning Service
Andy and Casey will be providing a boat detailing service from the fuel dock. They will be offering many different levels of service – anything from a quick wash down to a complete detailing service. There is nothing better than arriving at the lake to find a clean boat. Give them a try!

Washer 1-2 – Let’s All Stand Tall
The Laundry in the Clubhouse has a fresh new look and includes an additional washer. There’s even an iron and ironing board for those looking to achieve that clean and pressed Captain’s look.
Wake Me Up
New for 2009 - we have put in an Espresso Coffee Bar in the Clubhouse Ships Store. It will be complete with fresh pastries in the morning and cookies in the afternoon. Cynthia is back for 2009 and will be your Barista. Also take an opportunity to look around the store and check out the new look and expanded PBM clothing line.
RUBY LEARNS THE RULES AT PBM
Hi, my name is RUBY. This is my first season at Pikes Bay Marina. I must say that when I heard we were coming here I was a bit worried, but boy was I glad to hear that PBM was a pet friendly marina. However, my Mom and Dad (that’s what I call my owners) told me that I needed to be aware of the Pet Rules and that I was not allowed to just run wild like I sometimes tend to do. Mom and Dad say that I am their Best Friend, but that does not mean that I am going to be everyone else’s Best Friend. Dad likes to lay out my do’s and don’ts in a 1-2-3 order so it easier for me to remember.
1. On the docks and in the Clubhouse I must always be on a leash. At my last marina a big dog that was running loose on the docks jumped up on a child and knocked her into the water. It was kind of scary as she almost hit her head on a boat.
2. Mom and Dad are always good at picking up after me and PBM even has a Poop Station equipped with plastic bags and a disposal bin.
3. In the
Clubhouse, in addition to always being on a leash, I am not allowed
in the kitchen, bathrooms or shower areas . The PBM staff
told my Mom and Dad that pets in the bathrooms was a major complaint
of other boaters last year

4. Although it is OK at home, I not allowed on any of the couches or chairs in the Clubhouse. This will be the hardest rule for me.
5. If Mom or Dad are by themselves and want to use the showers, PBM has installed some cool Hitching Posts outside of the ships store where I can wait for them.
I am looking forward to meeting many new friends this season – We all need to follow the rules so PBM can continue to be a Pet Friendly Facility.
